My savings account, that is.
I was able to put $400 into my savings today after getting paid last week and from some of my Christmas present money. I am happy that I made it through the holidays without really losing any money, and thankfully BF paid for a portion of the gifts we gave to my family.
I've been working 20 hours a week during the winter break and have one and a half more weeks until school starts back up again. I have also been focusing on applying to summer nursing internships during this time. As of right now, I have four different hospitals that I am applying for, and hoping that I will be chosen for several of the programs and be able to have my pick of where I will spend my summers working. All of the programs are paid positions, so I will be able to make a good amount of money by working at the internship and at my regular lifeguarding job.
I am going to have to pay a $4,000 bill in February for this upcoming semester, and was hoping I would be able to use some of my tax return towards it, but in case I can't, I will be able to pay via my savings account and then replenish the money I lost with my tax return.
Since I've been in school I've only been able to save $500, but am hoping that if I can keep the slow but steady progress, I will be able to save $1,000 by the end of this semester. I have to reign in my eating-out activities and curb spending on shopping (which I really haven't partaken in at all over the winter so far).
I hope you get one of internships! Good luck.
